He was born in Nice, France in 1971 and graduated Master?s Degree in Philosophy before going to Beaux-Art School in Paris. His first comic work was published in 1994 with more than a hundred so far.
In the world of French ?bande dessin?e?, Joann Sfar is a comic artist and comic book creator who works just like a play writer: his work evidently expresses an excellent story telling; his graphic art is unique; his characters have personalities but retain the freshness of the drawing moment, including the inspiration to draw ?beautiful pictures?.
Joann Sfar works with Gallimard Publishing Group and he is now busy with two movie production projects: a portrayal of life of Serge Gainsbourg, a famous singer and composer, and the animation for his famous title Chat du Rabbin.

Born November 22, 1969 in Rasht, Iran,Marjane Satrapi is an Iranian-French contemporary graphic novelist, illustrator, Academy Award-nominated animated film director, and children's book author.
Satrapi grew up in Tehran in a communist family which was involved with the communist and socialist movements in Iran, prior to the Iranian Revolution. She attended the Lyc?e Fran?ais there and witnessed, as a child, the growing suppression of civil liberties and the everyday-life consequences of Iranian politics, including the fall of the Shah, the early regime of Ruhollah Khomeini, and the first years of the Iran-Iraq war.
